Here's To The Movies! - Chapter 1.1

Hello everyone! I am finally back with another chapter, and because I have taken so long to prepare and finally write this chapter and I want to get on with the legacy because I really want to actually be able to finish one for once, I once again have not designed a cover for this. Please don't hate me. *beg* I will make some for the the next parts, presuming I don't take a full 4 or 5 months to post them. College does quite get in the way of this, though, so....but anyway, I will try.

Oh, and I apologize profusely for my inability to write an Italian accent, so please use your imagination.

When last we were here, Guido Legasi had just proposed to Erin Kennedy, who was already pregnant with his first child.

"So, I was thinking, Principessa, since I have next to no money and a small house, that perhaps we could just have a small wedding here, and then I could move in to your house, so there would be slightly more room for the baby? I would much prefer to be alone with you for our wedding, anyway, darling, and I don't really know anyone else in town. Except for that questionable Goth heiress."
"Of course, Guido dear. Anything you want. I've always said I wanted to have a small wedding anyway; saves money."
"Then you won't object to doing it now?"
"Eh? Really? Right now?"
"Si, amore mio. Now."

And thus Erin Kennedy became Erin Legasi, and Guido moved into her slightly larger though still cramped house. Neither was quite sure how they were going to be able to raise 5 kids in this house, but they were willing to try. Or, at the very least, Guido was; Erin was bent on becoming an astronaut, and was not entirely thrilled with the fact that she might be held back, but she didn't complain. She loved Guido, and knew that if she found a reliable enough babysitter things might not turn out that badly.

It turns out that the two were married just in time, because not too long after the 'ceremony' was over, Erin had to be rushed to the hospital to deliver her and Guido's first child. Meet Enrico Legasi, and now would be a good time to tell you that I'm naming the kids this generation after characters in Rat Race. Up until this past semester I thought I was about the only person who had ever seen this movie. Now I know that I'm actually one of about 20 people who've heard of it. XD If that many. It's not a very popular movie, apparently, but I think it's hilarious. It's much in the same vein as Austin Powers, other than not being an actual parody of anything, at least not that I'm aware. Enrico is the Italian man chosen to race who, sadly, is afflicted with narcolepsy (falling asleep at odd times, essentially) and tends to mess things up and/or get himself into trouble a lot. And who better to start with than someone with an Italian name? ;)

Despite feeling unsure before the birth, Erin adjusted well to being a mother at a pace that surprised even her. Even though it had been the most important thing in her life for as long as she could remember, her job suddenly took a backseat to the little bundle of pixels she had brought into cyberspace.

She even started to become more of a 'housewife' as it were, cooking and cleaning, even after her stressful day at work. Part of it was to hear Guido's constant praise.
"Prinicipessa, I'm not sure what you do to waffles to make them so delicious, but these are magnifico! Mmmm mmm mmm."
"Nothing, dear, it has nothing to do with me. They're just from a box."
"But these are most delicious! Surely you added some secret ingredient! Do not be so modest, my dear."
"Guido, you're being silly. Of course not."
"No, this is me being silly. Oogabooga oogabooga boobledebooblededoodledeboo!"
"....you're right, that's much much sillier than suggesting I have some sort of magical cooking talent."

It soon became apparent that Erin was once again with child, and while she was not looking forward to being pregnant for such a long time again, she was actually excited to be having another. She only hoped that there would be no complications; she was already feeling a bit hungrier and more sore than she had with the previous pregnancy, and she was worried.
"BLARGH! Do you mind?"
Sorry, but I am the narrator, and without pictures I have no story.

Thankfully, Guido was more than happy to step up and lend a hand to his wife in any way he could, whether it be taking care of Enrico when he was home from the job he had recently obtained as a police officer, or massaging her back when she was feeling particularly sore.
"You know, dear, the baby is in my general stomach area, not my lungs. Do you mind not massaging my shoulders? It's not really doing that much for me."
"Have I done something?"
"No, sorry, it's just the hormones hon. Ignore it."
"But I don't want to ignore you..."
"Not completely! Just...oh, forget it. Thanks for the massage."

Sooner than either of them expected, Enrico grew into a a toddler, ready to walk and talk on his own, on his way to becoming a little man. (Did I just say that? UGH. I'm becoming too motherly in my old age. XD) He seemed to be the spitting image of his father, and Guido couldn't be prouder. He began teaching Enrico how to walk and talk as soon as possible in order for him to grow big and strong.

But it was soon time for another child to come, and once again Guido found himself escorting his wife the hospital, without the advantage of a car. ("Hurry up, will you, I don't want to have this baby in a random patch of grass!...no, no, sorry, just hormones again, don't look like that!") And a short time later, Nick Legasi came out to meet the world. Nick is named after the character who at first wants nothing to do with the race and just wants to fly back to Chicago, but once the flights are grounded and he finds a helicopter pilot who could take him to the final destination in New Mexico he goes for it. (Obviously, if you want to know anymore about these movies or characters, you can use imdb. I don't want to give too much away myself, though, so I'll keep it brief.)

Wrapped up in the life of their children (and because I was an idiot and didn't notice earlier than this) Erin grew into an Elder, bringing a screeching halt to Guido's LTW for 5 kids.
"Oh dear, what now? Not only can I not have kids, but I'm nearly ready to retire! Man, we're not very good at this planning thing."
We as in?
"All three of us."

This didn't hamper Erin and Guido's relationship, however; if anything it made it stronger than it was.

Whenever he was fighting crime, Guido found himself fighting grime. (One, two, three.....GROAN. Yes, bad. I know.) Now that his wife was not able to do a lot of the things she used to (theoretically), he had to do more housework than he had ever done before. But he was more than happy to do it.
"Of course I am! If it means helping my family, I will do anything! Anything at all!"
Yeah...I know.

Once again, time passed so quickly it seemed to blur, and it was time for Nick to become a toddler. There was definitely more of his mother in him than there was in Enrico, and as soon as Guido hugged him he was certain that Nick would be every bit as kind as his wife was.

Being the ever-pampering husband that he is, Guido baby-sat the terrible twos whenever he was able to, in order to help Erin have some time off to concentrate on building up her skills to become the astronaut she had always hoped she would be. Thankfully, Enrico was already able to walk and talk and had been potty-trained, so as long as he was in the same room Guido was able to keep an eye on him while he taught Nick the same things.
"Eh, how can I keep an eye on him if my back is turned?"
...it's not literal, Guido. It's just an expression.
"Ah, I see."

It wouldn't matter for much longer, though, because soon Enrico had grown into a young boy...though one whose sanity was certainly in question, as a favorite passtime of his was conversing with lamps.
"Why are you burning? It makes no sense for you to be on during such a bright and sunny day?...Not talking, eh? Well, we'll see about that! I'll wait here until you say something, Mister!"

Despite this, he was a very loving and kind big brother. Though he couldn't do much, he was always glad to help with Nick's supervision, even when he himself was being supervised by a babysitter. The two could not have gotten along better, and Nick was lucky that Enrico's outbursts generally happened when he was in a different room, or asleep.

Soon thereafter, though, it was once again birthday time in the Legasi house. Nick grew up into a handsome (if slightly nerdy - by my choice ;) I think he looks adorable) young man, though he was not nearly as courageous as either of his parents. They were kind in not exploiting this, however, even if they watched the occasional horror film which caused Nick to flee the premises.

And finally, it was time for Guido to become a full-fledged adult. Sure, he hadn't been able to accomplish his goal of 5 kids, and likely never will (as he's not the kind to cheat, and who knows how long Erin will live), but he had established a good foothold in the neighborhood of Sunset Valley, and he had two sons to raise and a lovely wife, and what more could a family man ask for?
